Pastel Jelly Glitter Franken

Hello dear readers!

Today I want to show you a franken I made a couple of days ago. This franken is a type of sheer color with multi glitter, I called it pastel jelly because it is not very opaque, so that the glitter can be visible. As was cleaning an empty bottle of black Kleancolor nail polish, it occurred to me that I should make a franken from scratch.

I used a bunch of glitters that were sitting in a dark corner of my nail polish drawer and mixed them together.

Here you can see my special blend of glitters...

I mixed the glitters with clear nail polish plus a few drops of white and pink cream nail polish until I reach the desired opacity.

I painted three coats of my pastel jelly & glitter franken.

An extra pic...

I love how this nail polish looks. It reminds me of strawberry glaze with candy sprinkles.
This picture can be found here

I hope you liked this franken because I do :)

Have you tried to mix this type of franken?

Wait! If you like, you can still enter my giveaway it ends in 8 days, February 17th ;)

    1. Thanks. Though I have to shake the bottle due to the glitter sinking to the bottom, I like the jelly and glitter finish.

  13. Cute color~ I've done some frankenpolish before, and have been experimenting using eyeshadow as a pigment! It's fun to play around with it all :)

  14. The glitter on this franken sinks to the bottom because I had no glitter suspension, but I just move the bottle in a rolling motion and the glitter mixes again ;)

  20. I am seeing this kind of finish on quite a few blog recently but nobody had actually made their own, and you have totally inspired me to try this. I have a cute pink Nails Inc polish that would be great as a base and I have a ton of micro and chunky glitter which would be perfect. Thanks for the post - you nails look so amazing.

  21. any suggestions on where to find chunky glitters that dont bleed?

    1. The glitter I used was bought from a Chinese seller through eBay and it bleed just a little bit, I had no problem.
You can go to an nail supply store or a craft store and ask for glitter that is solvent resistant.
I also found an online store that sells a wide variety of glitter that, according its description, can be used in nail polish. The store is called envynailsupply.com
      I hope this helps.

Where do you buy your glitter from to make franken polishes? (looking for sources both online and offline)

    I'm in Southern California, btw...

    1. I don't remember the names of the colors I used but I remember I used a mix of white and pink cream nail polishes
Just mix the colors little by little until you get the desired consistency and opacity :)

    1. If remember well, I think I used Sally Hansen - White On, Kleancolor - Pastel pink, very small drops of any hot pink nail polish and clear nail polish.

    1. I think Candy Shop has too much glitter for my taste but yes, this franken was inspired by cream and glitter nail polishes that are coming out recently.

  29. I love this especially the glitters bc that would look good in every color from white to blue and purple

  30. How do you keep the glitter from sinking to the bottom of the polish bottle? I have tried to make some frankens and the pigment or glitter that I add always sinks to the bottom. =/

    1. On this franken, I had to shake the bottle to distribute the glitter, but now I bought suspension base and the glitters are nicely suspended. I will show new frankens soon ;-)
