OPI - Glints of Glinda...Best nude ever!

Hello dear readers!

Today I want to show you swatches of a nude nail polish that I bought recently... and I'm in love with it!

Many times, I've thought, "this is the one!" when it comes to the perfect nude tone nail polish, but this time I hit the nail polish jackpot. Glints of Glinda by OPI, is not the usual nude tone, it has a jelly finish that makes it buildable to the opacity you choose... and by this, you can have the mannequin hands nail polish look, just  the way you want it

Glints of Glinda is part of OPI's Oz The Great And Powerful Collection. A peachy beige tone with a slight touch of yellow to it, which I think is a close match to my skin tone.

Being a jelly finish nail polish, it is very sheer. Good news is, this nail polish is not streaky and you can apply in layers to reach the desired opacity. This time, I wanted some nail line to show through, so I applied only two coats. Love it, love it, love it! The perfect balance of  no-nail-polish-look and yet, wearing nail polish. Very natural looking.

I'm very tempted to apply some nail art on it, but also, I like how it looks by itself. Very subtle looking.
I better buy 1 or 2 bottles as a back up, because I plan to keep wearing it :D

Have you tried this nail polish? or do you like the mannequin hands look?

Chocolate Swirl Water Marbling

Hello dear readers!

For my 2nd nail art of 2014, I chose water marbling. It is also the 2nd time I try water marbling.

I've always thought that there's a lot of wasted polish when trying it, but then I figured out... with all the nail polishes I have, when am I going to finish a bottle? I might as well put my nail polishes to good use and have fun with it...
For this mani I wanted a combination of powder pink and different shades of brown. Here's what I came up with:
  (More details and pics below)
Now that I see it, it reminds me a little bit of a cake with swirled chocolate icing...yummy!

For this manicure, I started with Orly - Prelude to a Kiss as the base.

Then I added a drops of :
Finger Paints - Sketchy Character
Milani - Bare with me
Kleancolor - Cappuccino
Nicole by OPI  - Hard-kourt Fashionista

Is a little bit hard to swirl the nail polish around.
I know there's a learning curve to it; maybe I need more practice.

I really like how the pattern came out on my thumb :D

Have your tried water marbling? Has it been easy for you?

Challenge: My Favorite Flower

Hello dear readers!

Here is my 1st manicure of 2014. I did it for Adventures in Stamping's Sunday challenge which is a nice way to come up with inspiration... it's also such a treat to take a look at what the other ladies do with their manicures. (Here some of the ladies post stamping in instagram #aistamping)

This is what I came up with for this challenge...
(more details and pics below)

Well, my favorite flowers are roses. Even if it sounds cliché, I really like them, here's some proof...
instagram.com/bunny_nails/

For this manicure, I started by painting 2 coats of Orly - Cotton Candy. Then, I stamped a grunge pattern from stamping plate HD-C using Orly - Prelude to a Kiss.

I stamped an inverted stamping pattern from my new BuNa-A plate on my thumb, index, middle and pinky. For my ring finger, I stamped a lace design and roses from the same plate. I used Kleancolor black for stamping.

This looks very Valentine's day appropriate, right? Maybe a bit early for that...

♥♥Thank you so much for reading in 2014♥♥
